The Iron Rail Bed
Bedroom Furniture
A Piece of American History, Reimagined
Some pieces of furniture carry more than craftsmanship. They carry generations of history.
The Missouri Heritage Collection begins with reclaimed Bald Cypress from a historic barn built in Missouri in 1865, at the close of the American Civil War.
According to the history passed down with the barn, its original builder served during the Civil War as a substitute for the son of a wealthy landowner. In exchange for his service, he received land, where he harvested Bald Cypress timber and constructed the barn that would stand for generations.
More than a century and a half later, that remarkable timber has found new purpose in the hands of Forged Elegance.
Historic Timber. Hand-Forged Strength.
The Civil War-Era Bunk Bed showcases the natural character of reclaimed Bald Cypress, with substantial timber posts that reveal the grain, weathering, and individual markings of the historic wood.
Hand-forged steel caps, protective railings, structural accents, and a coordinating steel ladder provide a striking contrast to the warmth of the timber. The combination celebrates traditional metalworking and the enduring beauty of reclaimed American materials.
Designed with a twin bed above a full-size bed, this distinctive piece makes an impressive addition to a luxury bunk room, Western ranch estate, mountain retreat, or family guest suite.
Custom Crafted for Your Space
Each bunk bed can be customized to suit the client's vision, including bed configurations, dimensions, finishes, and design details.
Whether envisioned for a grand Montana lodge, a Jackson Hole retreat, or a private Western estate, the design can be tailored to complement its surroundings.
Because the historic Bald Cypress is a finite reclaimed material, availability of the original timber is limited. Natural variations in color, texture, grain, and weathering contribute to the individuality of each piece.
